I love to give back to our community. I feel very strongly about philanthropic giving, whether it be monetarily or by volunteering my time. And I have the pleasure of working alongside the VantagePoint team who’s equally as passionate about giving back.

A few weeks ago, we partnered with Paint Your Heart Out, Tampa Bay. They are strictly a volunteer effort aimed at painting the homes of the low income, elderly residents of Tampa The program receive any local, state, or federal funding, but rely solely on private contributions such as cash and in-kind donations. In-kind donations include paint, paintbrushes, rollers, scrapers, ladders, and just about everything you need to paint a house.

The VantagePoint team gathered together early one Saturday morning to paint the home of Ms. Josephine. Teamwork makes the dream work!

I’ve always been one to work hard and try my best. I firmly believe that a strong work ethic can build character and drive an individual to achieve greatness no matter what obstacles they face.

As I’m sure you’re aware, my company is family owned and operated and has been since 1979. My dad, Louis Mendelsohn, literally came from nothing in a true rags-to-riches story. My career with VantagePoint Software started in the mid-1980s when I joined my dad. I’ve worked in every aspect of the business. This gave me first-hand experience that I’ve used to grow my career. And through the years I’ve experienced the growing pains of being a part of the family business… but I’ve also experienced the joy and triumph we’ve achieved as a company by helping traders achieve success with VantagePoint. We have truly changed the lives for members of our team, our customers, and those in the community who are in need.

Look… it’s not all business at Market Technologies. Yes, we are empowering traders daily with VantagePoint. But, on other days, we like to get a little crazy and let off some steam. I don’t know exactly why I decided to do this (seriously… I have no idea) but I rented a dunk tank. It seemed like a good idea at the time. At our quarterly meeting, I threw on my bathing suit and gave any VantagePoint Team Member who’s been with me for more than 10 years the opportunity to try and dunk me.

Not everyone had the best aim, so there might have been a bit of cheating involved. None the less, a lot of laughs were had by all!

Exciting times at Market Technologies! My company (you know… the one behind the world-renowned artificial intelligence trading software VantagePoint) announced it is recognized as a 2018 Top Workplace by the Tampa Bay Times. The award, based solely on anonymous surveys completed by employees, places Market Technologies in the top 10 out of 50 companies with less than 150 employees.

Everyone at Market Technologies is excited about this award because it recognizes that employees value having an employer that offers a meaningful and beneficial place to work. Together, we’ve built a culture where people enjoy coming to work and know they can support their families at a company that cares about them and the community we all live in.”

The recognition is based on employee feedback gathered through third-party research company Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey was completed by 35,925 employees across 186 companies. Any employer — public, private, nonprofit or governmental — with at least 50 employees in the area was eligible to participate.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that my company is a family company. It was first started by my dad, software pioneer Louis B. Mendelsohn. Then I started and worked my way through the ranks eventually becoming president. But outside of the family lineage, I have my work family too. Many of whom have worked alongside me for many years. As you probably know, we partnered with Shriners Hospitals for Children last year. The reason for this post is because I wanted to let you know something very special that happened. It was recently International Children’s Book Day and we did something incredible for the kids at Shriners. I gathered the VantagePoint team together and we committed to donating as many books as possible. A few days passed, and we were able to make a huge donation of children’s books for the patients!
